What happens at a Physical Therapy Appointment

What To Expect at Physical Therapy

Initial Evaluation
Your Physical Therapist will do a thorough evaluation of your condition. You and your therapist will determine the length and duration of your plan of care upon completion of the initial visit. Physical Therapists will measure your range of motion, and strength as well as assess posture, and body mechanics. They will also perform any special tests to confirm or rule out specific diagnoses.

Treatment
Treatment will begin the same day as your Initial Evaluation.

Treatment may consist of but is not limited to:

  • Aquatic Therapy or Pool Therapy

  • Trigger Point Dry Needling

  • Manual Therapy

  • Modalities

    • Electrical Stimulation

    • Ultrasound

    • Iontophoresis

  • Stretching and Strengthening

  • Work Conditioning

  • Functional Activities

  • Body Mechanics Training

  • In-home Physical Therapy

Home Program
Our team of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistant and Athletic trainers will provide you with a stretching and strengthening program for you to do at home to improve your rehabilitation experience and help you to recover faster.

Continued Support
Often times after the completion of a Physical Therapy Program, many individuals stop performing their home program and symptoms return. We have opportunities to give you the continued support you need to maintain a healthy, pain free life.

Maintenance Program
Your success is important to us even after you have completed therapy. The Maintenance Program is beneficial for anyone who has completed their physical therapy plan of care and would like to continue their exercise program in a controlled environment. Participants are able to use the equipment in the clinic on their own time for a small fee.

Aftercare Program
This cash based program allows you to continue with care as needed to maintain gains achieved throughout physical therapy once you are discharged. This is a great option to quickly treat any flare ups of symptoms or continue with manual therapy to maintain a general state of health and well-being.

Aftercare services may include:

  • Trigger Point Dry Needling

  • Manual Therapy Techniques

  • Kinesiology Taping

Cost varies from $50 to $55 per session depending on the treatment options. Payment is due at the time of the visit and appointments should be scheduled in advance.

Community Transition
Your success is important to us even after you complete therapy. Through community partnerships, we have the opportunity to go offsite with you to a local gym facility for a treatment session. During these sessions a physical therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with you to teach you how to properly use exercise equipment and modify exercises to match the gym environment.
